About Us

Our Story

We’re passionate about bread, baked goods and all fresh foods and produce. And so we’ve put together a unique concept that unites quality and convenience, bread and groceries, baked goods and daily essentials, homeland classics and tastes from all around the world.

Our journey started in 1969 with Mr. Edward Bou Habib opening the doors of the first Wooden Bakery branch in Jal el Dib, Mount- Lebanon. This establishment soon turned into the starting point of a success story, revolutionizing the industry thanks to its high standards and a constant diversification of its offering.
When Edward’s sons Assaad and Ghassan took the reins in 1996, they fleshed out an innovative concept, thus taking the family business to new heights. From there, it’s been onward and upward, with more than 50 branches opening across Lebanon and a master franchise operation taking off in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2009, followed by Qatar, the UAE, then Iraq and Kuwait… With more to come

Milestones

1969
The first branch opens its doors in Jal El Dib, Mount-Lebanon.
1996
The second generation takes the family business to new heights.
1999
The first Wooden Bakery retail outlet is established.
2002
The first franchise operation is carried out.
2009
Wooden Bakery launches its first regional development plan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2018
Wooden Bakery expands to Qatar.
2020
Wooden Bakery makes it to the United Arab Emirats.
